MagicJack, a VoIP service running through USB device
If you are interesting in switching from you expensive traditional landline or getting VoIP phone service then you might want to check out the new magicJack. The magicJack is a new VoIP phone service that runs solely through a USB device that is sold by the company. The magicJack can be had for an initial price of $39.95 for the first year and then is $19.95 per year for subsequent years.
The magicJack comes with all of the standard features that landlines and other VoIP service providers have such as voicemail, call waiting, and caller ID, just to name a few. So far there have been mixed reviews regarding the magicJack with most people either loving it or hating it. We personally haven’t tried it but it seeams to be a pretty good idea, in theory at least. The good news about the mixed reviews however is that magicJack offers a 30 day free trial so you can try before you buy and see if it is something you want to keep for the long haul.
Our favorite thing about the magicJack is that you can take it anywhere that you have a computer and a broadband internet connection. This essentially makes it a mobile landline telephone. How ironic is that? Now we just have to wait and see about the impending femtoJack, a device that will supposedly route all mobile phone calls through their VoIP network when in range of the femtoJack. The femtoJack could spell an end to the traditional landline phone all together and mean unlimited mobile phone minutes while in range of the femtoJack.
