Google Voice improves integration with Gmail
In my recent post about Google Voice, I showed my feeling that the integration between Google Voice and other Google products such as Gmail was not tight enough. Obvious, it is just a matter of time. Just a few days after that post, Google Voice has further improvement of integration with Gmail.
When I was writing my previous post about Google Voice, it could only forward voicemail to users’ Gmail accounts and normal SMS could just forward to US mobile phone numbers. That was very inconvenient to non-Android/BlackBerry users like me, who don’t have native Google Voice software could be installed on their mobile phones or a US mobile phone number. I had to visit the Google Voice WAP site to check whether there was new SMS for me.
Now, this problem has been improved as users can let Google Voice forward SMS to email automatically in setting -> Voicemail & SMS. Though users still cannot forward SMS to email address other than their Gmail accounts, which is the same as voicemail. This make it possible to me to receive SMS sent to my Google Voice account via SEVEN push email on my N82.
