A few month ago, when I just heard about SmartQ 5, a Ubuntu based MID from China, I was really interested in it and considering to buy its enlarged version SmartQ 7. However, I hesitated after I read more reviews. But it is another story. Here are some photos of Cube H800, another Linux based MID from China. It is just a sign that more and more similar products will be introduced by Chinese vendors, most of which are MP4 manufacturers.

The vendor of Cube H800 emphasizes that is a dual Linux system. I guess it means 2 Linux distributions dedicated for different applications: one to play media files, another to run ebook reader and other programs.

This is a photo of Cube H800 running the file manager program.

This is a photo of Cube H800 with a USB mouse connected to it. The stylus will be more convenient to my option. But maybe the vendor just wants to show the USB port of Cube 800 supports OTG.

In this photo, Cube H800 has Stardict, a famous dictionary platform on Linux, running on it.

This photo shows that Cube H800 has FBreader as its default Ebook reader program, which is the same as SmartQ 5/7.

Here we can see Cube H800 also has AbiWord, Gnumeric and PDF reader installed.

These photos haven’t show which web browser is running on Cube H800. On an earlier picture used to demonstrate the concept of Cube H800, a FireFox icon is placed on the desktop. I don’t think it will happen in the final product coming to the market.
